SSL PURE DRIVE QUAD

Premium microphone preamps are essential for achieving outstanding recordings, and the SSL ORIGIN console has established itself as a modern classic with its innovative PureDrive mic preamps. These preamps combine the clarity and punch of classic SSL designs with the “DRIVE” option, adding warmth, harmonic richness, and powerful character that evolves with increasing gain.

In PURE mode, the preamps deliver clean, transparent sound, ideal for capturing subtle details such as a piano performance. Switching to DRIVE mode introduces warmth and saturation, making it perfect for enhancing drums, vocals, and instruments.

The PURE DRIVE QUAD continues this legacy in a compact rack-mountable format, offering four high-quality microphone preamps with the familiar PURE and DRIVE modes of the ORIGIN console. Additionally, SSL introduces a third asymmetrical DRIVE mode, expanding tonal possibilities even further, alongside integrated digital interfaces and USB connectivity.

The signal path is completely free of electromechanical components such as potentiometers or relays, ensuring long-term reliability and precise consistency across all channels. Digitally controlled analog circuitry, combined with detented controls and electronic switching, allows accurate recall and fine-tuned adjustments.

The PURE DRIVE QUAD offers extensive connectivity, including rear-mounted XLR combo inputs, four front-panel Hi-Z/DI inputs with automatic detection, and D-Sub connectors for line-level inputs and insert send/return. Insert return and ADC inputs support levels up to +24 dBu, enabling seamless integration with professional studio gear.
