These preamps retain the clarity and punch of classic SSL designs while introducing the “DRIVE” option for added warmth, harmonic richness, and powerful tonal character that evolves with increased gain.
In PURE mode, the preamps deliver pristine and transparent sound, ideal for capturing subtle details such as a piano performance. Switching to DRIVE mode introduces warmth and saturation, making it perfect for adding character to drums, vocals, and instruments.
The PURE DRIVE OCTO brings this renowned technology into a rack-mountable format, offering eight high-quality microphone preamps with PURE and DRIVE modes from the ORIGIN console. It goes even further by introducing a third, asymmetrical DRIVE mode for enhanced tonal shaping, alongside integrated digital interfaces and USB connectivity.
The signal path is entirely free of electromechanical components such as potentiometers or relays, ensuring long-term durability and precise consistency across all channels. Digitally controlled analog circuitry, combined with detented controls and electronic switching, allows for accurate recall and easy operation.
The PURE DRIVE OCTO provides extensive connectivity options, including eight rear-mounted XLR combo inputs, four front-panel Hi-Z/DI inputs with automatic detection, and three D-Sub connectors for line-level inputs and insert send/return. Insert returns and ADC inputs support levels up to +24 dBu for seamless integration with professional studio equipment.
